Happy Valentine's Day

On the way into the office this morning I experienced a great idea at the Stilorgan exit onto the N11 dual carriageway. Two men were dressed in full tux attire offering a red rose and chocolate into the driver of every car waiting at the traffic lights. The lovely choclate was Milk Tray; it was a great idea and very fitting for today!
Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

  1. Happy Valentines Day!

I wasn't lucky enough to experience this latest customer offering by Cadbury's; it's a great example of companies engaging in acts of kindness in order to strengthen their position in the market. Such a gesture is small for a company the size of Cadbury's, but it goes a long way with the customer. A fun and effective way of managing CRM!

  2. I was lucky enough to get a chocolate and rose too Edel. I thought it was a great idea and it really brightened up my morning. I also agree that it is great to see companies engaging in random acts of kindness, a trend that Sarah brought to our attention today. I hope it catches on and we get a few more random acts of kindness from companies soon!

  3. I seen this too edel and I thought it was a fantastic bit of marketing by cadburys. As ciara points out it's great to see 'random acts of kindness'and of course it would be great to see further acts like this. The obvious tie between luxury chocolates and valentines day is more than well known, but wouldn't it be interesting to see how many people made cadbury's chocolates as their selection that day rather than a box of high premium chocolates like butlers or lindt?

  4. Sadly I wasn't lucky enough to stumble upon these guys, I was however on the receiving end of an Act of Random Kindness not so long ago which really caught my attention. Free cupcakes and a chat (if I wanted) on Shop St, Galway. The organisation behind the whole thing was ARK.
ARK are a clothing company who promote acts of random kindness through their clothing range which features t-shirts, polos and underwear. In contrast to an organisation participating in carrying acts of kindness, they are an organisation who's purpose is to promote the concept of ARKs. Really encouraging to see, and the clothes are pretty nice too!

  5. I was unfortunate enough to have to turn down the role of being one of the tux clad gentlemen. I thought it was a great idea and really embraced Valentines day as I thought an act of kindness such as handing out choclates was very fiiting for Valentines day, who knows maybe il get the chance to do it next year!

  6. I haven't seen this creative promotion but i think it was incredible. I agree with the previous comments in that these random acts of kindness are a very positive approach by companies. I think today a focus on customer service and customer care is fundemental and this will go along way in the eyes of the consumer.
